The Zamfara State House of Assembly on Wednesday impeached Mahdi Gusau, the state’s deputy governor.
This followed the report of the committee set up by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Kulu Aliyu, to probe the deputy.
Recall that Gusau had declined to join the APC after Governor Bello Matawalle moved to the ruling party, prompting immediate attempts by lawmakers and the governor’s supporters to force him out of office.
The Report of the Committee headed by Justice Halidu Tanko-Soba was read to the House by the Speaker, 20 out of 24 members voted for the deputy governor’s removal.
