Detectives from the Delta State Police Command have arrested a middle aged man; Kenneth Ajie of Amadaga Village in connection with the production of fake alcoholic beverage at Ovwian in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
 
SECURITYREPORTERS.com gathered that Intelligence squealed to operatives of the Command’s Special Anti-Cult Unit led by SP Christopher Igbaji  had facilitated the clamping down on the illegal factory where killer drinks were produced.
 
Investigation by the police revealed that the  wines were being produced in the man’s house without license or approval from the National Agency For Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
 
According to revelations given by the suspect, a bottle of the ‘killer’ alcoholic wine sold for N300 while a carton was sold for N3,600.00.  He also admitted that he made use of used and disposed bottles after washing same. He was buying such old bottles for N10 per bottle and bought fresh corks.
 
Delta Police spokesman DSP Bright Edafe confirming the arrest said Ajie was operating the illegal brewery alone though further investigation has continued to ascertain if there was more to it, than operatives have discovered so far.
