Some assailants alleged to be military personnel in the early hours of Wednesday invaded the Adamawa Police Headquarters located in Jimeta in the Yola North Local Government Area of the state.
According to the source, they came on a revenge mission following the alleged killing of a military officer by the police.
However, the spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje in a statement, said the armed men sent the residents of Yola into panic.
“The attack was repelled, but the identities of those behind it was unknown,” Nguroje said.
Nguroje said in his statement that Police investigations were ongoing to ascertain the reason for the attack and those behind it.
