Gunmen attack, abduct two worshippers in Celestial church

A group of gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, reportedly stormed a Celestial Church situated in Oriyanrin village, Mowe, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, abducting two worshippers.

Ogun State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, in a statement confirmed that the incident occurred on Thursday, resulting in the abduction of two worshippers, namely Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

The assailants were said to have escaped through a dense forest adjacent to the church after the kidnapping.

CP Alamutu Abiodun, the Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, has promptly ordered the mobilization of security personnel to pursue the perpetrators.

The statement reads, “Suspected kidnapping report at my disposal 28/3/2024 reveals that unidentified gunmen, invaded a Celestial Church around Oriyanrin village Mowe and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi, Oluboboye Abiola, and escaped through the thick forest behind the church.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Alamutu Abiodun has been briefed and he has ordered immediate mobilization of security personnel to go after the hoodlums.”
