The Joint Task Force of Police and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Akwanga Nasarawa State, on Friday, arrested one Likita Abubakar, allegedly on his way to Jos in Plateau State with 53 AK47 magazines and 260 rounds of live ammunition. The suspect, 35 of age, was reportedly nabbed while on his motorbike.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Nasarawa State Police Command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, said the suspect would be transferred, for further investigation, to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, on the orders of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi.
According to the statement, items recovered from the suspect were 53 empty magazines, 260 rounds of live ammunition and a cash sum of #38,500.
