A Massive Technical Training and Certification Program for Auto Mechanics for seemless conversion of motor vehicles from biofuel to gas powered engines is to be launched on Tuesday November 9, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AVM Services Limited, Dr. Valentine Igoniwari disclosed this while speaking with Nigeriamaritime360 in Abuja.
Igoniwari stated that the launching is organised by his company in partnership with AutoLady and EuroLPG, a Holland based company, to train no fewer than 500 technicians and engineers across the federation in auto gas technology in the country.
According to him, the project, targeted at providing employment opportunities for Nigerian youths, is a component of the National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP) of the Federal Government.
“It is one policy to support and promote the fast tracking of the national gas expansion scheme, especially as it concerns the auto gas technology in Nigeria. The policy aims at converting motor vehicles plying Nigerian roads from biofuel to gas powered engines, with the advantage of sustaining a cleaner environment than hitherto,” the AVM CEO further revealed.
According to him, dignitaries from within and outside the country, will deliver papers on “The Roadmap to Clean Energy Transport System in Nigeria”.
Among the dignitaries within the country are Governors Engr Abdullahi Sule and Alhaji Yahaya Bello of Nasarawa and Kogi states respectively.
The duo are Guest Speakers at the first Training and Certification Program slated to hold on 9th November, 2021 at the NSE Auditorium, Nigeria Engineering Centre,CBD, Abuja.
The event will have the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum, HE Timipre Sylva as Special Guest of Honour
The event is themed “The Critical Role of Auto-Mechanics in Autogas Vehicles Conversion in Nigeria,”
Dr. Wahaab Abdullah, President, Euro LPG Group, Netherlands, a lead trainer/Global Autogas technology advisor, will deliver lecture on the topic: Autogas: Roadmap to Clean Energy Transport System in Nigeria.
The keynote speaker for the day is Mr. Jelani Aliyu MFR, Director General, National Automotive Design Development Council.
Other notable dignitaries expected at the event include; Engr. Ali Rabiu, President, COREN, Dr. Valentine Igoniwari, CEO, AVM Energy Services Ltd, Engr. Dr. Robinson Elijah, among others.
The first National Autogas Technicians Training & Certification holding in Nigeria in November promises to be topnotch as the event promises to bring together the best in the industry.
It is expected that Nigeria’s automotive industry shall experience a boost with the federal government awareness programme to popularise gas powered vehicles among commercial transport operators with a view to driving down transportation costs among commuters while at the same time achieving a pollution free environment.
The plan is being predicated on the stupendous natural gas deposits in the country and coming at a time the present administration is contemplating withdrawing completely fuel subsidy put at a whopping sum of N150 billion monthly effective mid-2022.
