A former governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion,  has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over  N1.6 billion fraud allegation.
Igbinedion who was governor from 2003 to 2007 is alleged to have diverted public funds and is currently being quizzed at the EFCC headquarters, Abuja.
The former governor is accused of diverting a loan obtained by the Edo State government to a private company with his interest in it.
Recall that Igbinedion was formerly prosecuted by the EFCC in 2008 and was convicted of embezzling about N2.9 billion belonging to Edo State, serving a six months sentence after pleading guilty.
