… As Yahaya Bello holds ‘closed-door’ meeting with APC Flagbearer
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu plays host to Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun on Friday in Abuja.
Abiodun visited the former governor of Lagos in Abuja to felicitate with him on his victory at the APC presidential primary election.
The Ogun governor took to his Twitter handle to announce his visit to Tinubu in Abuja.
“I paid a visit to our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to congratulate him on his emergence as the presidential candidate of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.
“I also gave our assurances of support in the next political process that has now begun ahead of the 2023 presidential election,” he said.
Meanwhile, the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu held a ‘closed-door’ meeting with the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello two days after the party’s primary.
Recall that Tinubu and Yahaya Bello contested the APC Presidential primary. Bello polled 47 votes to come 5th in the race.
The meeting may not be unconnected with plan by the APC candidate to reconcile aggrieved party members after the primary.
Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is said to have accompanied Tinubu to the meeting in Abuja.
Former Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole is also at the meeting meant to cement relationship and forge a common front for the party in next year’s presidential election.
Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State were also in his entourage.
