As part of efforts towards repositioning its management structure for better performance as a reputable human rights player fighting for victims of crime, the Crime Victims Foundation of Nigeria (CRIVIFON); a non-profit organization has restructured its leadership team with a Supervisory Committee headed by the Executive Director of the Foundation at the apex, next to the Board of Directors.
The Supervisory Committee is chaired by Barr. (Mrs) Gloria Egbuji who founded the organization over two decades ago and has remained the Executive Director. She is now to be assisted by the Foundation’s former National Coordinator Comrade Titus Ofurum as Vice Chairman.  The committee has other members.
In a keenly contested elections for the national offices of the Foundation on Saturday, Dr. Emeh Kelechi defeated Comrade Ikechukwu Bright to emerge the new National Coordinator of the Foundation. He scored 31 votes against Bright who garnered 22 votes. The new National Coordinator holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Minnesota University in United States of America.
The office of the new National Secretary of the Foundation went to Comrade Onyewuchi Valentine who was the only candidate for the position.  He was therefore returned unopposed. Comrade Onyewuchi is a graduate of Public Administration from the Lagos State University, Ojo and currently  in self employed business.
Meanwhile, in a closed door meeting after the election, the Supervisory Committee members resolved that Comrade Ikechukwu Bright should automatically assume the position of National  Deputy Coordinator to make the new team more formidable.
It was gathered that in no distant time, positions of state coordinators of the Foundation would be strengthened through election or appointment by the Supervisory Committee.
The Crime Victims Foundation of Nigeria was registered in 1998 as a Non-Governmental Organization with charitable status. Over the years, it has been at the vanguard of seeking redress for victims of crime in Nigeria, ranging from domestic violence by spouses against their partners, victimization of innocent citizens by security agents of the state, child abuse or molestation and so on.
The Foundation also under the Founder/Executive Director, Gloria Egbuji in the last ten years trained no fewer than 20,000 police personnel on human rights.  It was her vision that gave birth to the existence of human rights desks in many police divisions at the Lagos State Police Command and others where such training had taken place.
