Be guided by Lagos State CD(A)C Constitution- Alimosho LG Chairman charges CDAs

Newly elected Jaiyeoba community Development Association Executive members in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos state have been sworn in.

The Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Honourable Jelili Sulaiman on the occasion, charged Executive members of the Community Development Councils and Associations in the local government area to discharge their duties in line with the objectives setting up the associations in the state.

Hon. Jelili who was speaking through the Head of Department of the Council’s Agriculture and Social Services, Alhaja Imam Riliwanat Toyin, commended CDAs in Alimosho Local Government for their various self-help projects urging them to do more.

He also called for security consciousness among the communities adding that security is everyone’s business.

Jelili urged community members to say something when they see something, adding that security agents need information to keep the communities safe.

The local government chairman advised that the new EXCO must plan, co-ordinate, execute and maintain joint community Development projects on self-help basis at community levels.

Jelili added that people’s dwindling interest must be awaken and encouraged to participate in the welfare and improvement of the community.

The Alimosho Local Government Chairman above all, urged that the newly elected executive members who will pilot the affairs of Jaiyeoba Community Development Association in the next two years must promote unity initiative, leadership and togetherness among members of the community.

He promised to assist the communities in the local government within available resources of the Local Government.

The head of department took the newly elected members through their individual official duties in accordance with the constitutional dictates of the CDA.

Alhaja Imam enjoined the EXCO members to accord respect to elders in the community especially the traditional leaders who are the patrons of the CDAs.

Earlier, the Alimosho Community Development Council (CDC) Chairman Ven. Samuel Adewuyi congratulated Jaiyeoba CDA for having a new set of leadership and prayed for their success in the discharge of their selfless service to the community. He urged that they should make transparency and accountability their watchwords.

Hon Patrick Arinde, JCDA Chairman

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman, Mr Patrick Arinde pledged to be the servant of the people and carry the residents along in his administration.

The ceremony was witnessed by members of the community including past executives of the association.
