Again, bandits kill four in Benue

Armed bandits reportedly invaded Ikobi community in Apa Local Government Area of Benue community around 6 pm on Wednesday killing four people.

A community leader, Atule Amodu who spoke to newsmen in Makurdi through telephone call confirmed that four people were killed.

Amodu said, “This place is called Ikobi but it is the outskirt. The bandits came in silently and caught them unawares and began to kill them.

“They killed four persons and one injured. Their modus operandi is that they come around every other day and when they come they will be patrolling with their cattle.

Also confirming the report, chairman of socio-cultural group known as Apa Development Association, Eche Akpoko said that he received report of attack by bandits.

He said, “As of this morning, I was told that four bodies were recovered from the community”.

However, the State Command Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene said that she had yet to receive such report.
