Anti-Cult operatives at the Anambra State Police Command on Tuesday  bursted the den of Cult and Armed robbery gang in Amiwko Village Awka arresting six suspects.
 
The suspects are  Ejinaka Chukwuemeka (17years), Emeka Nwanna  (18years) and Micheal Ozuah  (20years).
 
Others are Chukwuma Obu  (22years),  Onyemaechi Chijoke  (25years) and Ifeanyi Ebeze  (25years).
 
Exhibits recovered from them included two locally made pistols and eight live cartridges.
 
Anambra Police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement on Tuesday that preliminary investigations had revealed that the suspects were actively involved in the recent shooting incident at about 8am on Monday 12th April, 2021, that resulted in the death of one unidentified young man along Ukwuoji , Awka.
 
They equally confessed to be members of BLACK AXE CONFRATERNITY.  
 
They will be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigations, Ikenga added.
 
Meanwhile,the Commissioner of Police Monday Bala Kuryas, has thanked Anambra residents for their cooperation and urged them to sustain the tempo by assisting the Command with actionable intelligence in order to discover authors of crime in the State.
 
He also called on all stakeholders to partner with the Police to address the security issues associated with Cultism among the youths.
