It was a lucky day for At lrast thirteen lucky persons escaped death by the whiskers when an 18-seater bus they were traveling in caught fire on motion in the Nataco area of the ever busy Lokoja /Abuja expressway, Kogi State on Thursday.
The bus, believed to be heading to the Northern part of the country suddenly burst into flames around 4pm in the Kogi state capital.
Eye witness account said some passengers who narrowly escaped with various degrees of burns were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Lokoja.
The cause of the fire could not be readily ascertained.
Officers of the Federal Roads Safety Corps, Nigeria Police and volunteers were seen working hard to save the lives of those trapped in the inferno.
The police Public Relations officer Sup. William Aya, who promised to contact the officer in charge of the jurisdiction and call back, had not responded as at the time of filing report.
