Olamilekan Odofin, a Yoruba Nation agitator, has been arrested by the police after over a year on the run.
Lagos Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on his X handle, said the 34-year-old was arrested by officers of Ayobo Division, Lagos.
The suspect, Hundeyin, said, on January 9, 2023, championed attacks on motorists and the police under the guise of Yoruba Nation agitation.
He added that an investigation is ongoing following the arrest.
At least one person died, two policemen got injured and some vehicles damaged, during the protest by agitators for the Yoruba nation last year in Ojota, Lagos.
The pro-Yoruba separatist group and the police pointed accusing fingers at each other over who provoked the clash.
The agitators claimed that the police provoked the clash after its men tried to disperse the rally and the agitators refused to heed.
