Several parts of Lagos metropolis were on Friday over flooded as the rain which began in early hours of the day in some parts continued heavily for hours.
At the Victoria Island area, the flooding was unimaginable as car parks on Marina were taken over by flood which covered up to the window level of some vehicles parked by their owners in the fee paying car parks.
The roads were not spared either as flood took over many places due to poor drainage system. Some motorists had hectic time trying to drive through as their vehicles got stocked in the flood.
The resultant damage to the vehicles could be unimaginable as could be seen in the video accompanying this story.
As at press time, it was still difficult to get across to some parts of the city. However, some residents spoken to, by our correspondent said their experience was unpalatable.
One of them, Ugochukwu Success said she was terribly messed up by the rain, but did not regret much as she did not come out with her car. “I thank God I did not go out in my vehicle, it would have been a harrowing experience.”
As at the time of filing this report, effort to reach the Metrology Department in Lagos with a view to ascertaining the level of the down poor was not successful, neither could authorities of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) be reached to know if there were incidents relating to the heavy down pour.
