The Lagos State Police Command has arrested some suspects for breaking into a Warehouse at the Ifelodun Section of Alaba International Market,Ojo area of the State.
The suspects were arrested by operatives attached to Ojo Division of the Lagos State Police Command, on Thursday.
According to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, “on the fateful day, at about 1.50pm, police operatives arrested two suspects for breaking into the warehouse of Mr. Chidi Okonkwo, at Shop C1, Ifelodun Section, Alaba Market, and stole goods worth N3,000,000.”
“The suspects, Nnanji Emmanuel, 33, of Jakande Street, Ajamgbadi, and Christian Chukwu, 32, of Ilaje Area, Ajamgbadi, broke into the warehouse, stole the goods and called on a carrier (labourer) in the market, Bashiru Bala, to assist in evacuating the goods before Bashiru, who knows the owner of the warehouse, called his attention to the incident.
The owner raced to the warehouse in company of some market security men and the police, and the suspects were arrested. The stolen items were recovered from them.
“The State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has, therefore, urged Lagos residents to be their brother’s keepers and protect their lives and property against theft and malicious damage as the concept of esprit de corps must be exhibited to defend one another in our society.
Odumosu also reiterated his commitment to incorporate every stakeholder and sector into the security architecture of the state for better protection of lives and property and general safety of the state.
