The synergy among security agencies in Emure, Ikere and Ise communities in Ekiti State, has reduced the incidence of crime.

The Chairman, Joint Security Committee of the communities Elder Tunji Falana, who on Wednesday, made the revelation, advised people of the zone comprising Emure, Ikere and Ise/Orun local government areas,  “to be security conscious, avoid night travels.

“Also, they should be modest in celebration during Yuletide, be discreet about plans, movements and above all, report strange moves, face and occurrences to the security agencies for necessary action.”

The security panel chairman, in a Christmas message titled, “Yuletide: JSC tasks security, residents on a crime-free season, peaceful celebrations”, appealed to the people of the area and indeed the state to play their roles in ensuring crime-free, hitch-free and safe Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Falana assured the people of Emure, Ikere and Ise Ekiti that “the security agencies in the three local government areas including police, Amotekun Corps, Vigilante Corps and local hunters have been put on the alert to ensure peaceful and crime-free Yuletide.

He said, “The synergy among the security outfits in the three local government areas is appreciated. The synergy has brought about a drastic reduction of kidnapping, cultists activities and other crimes in this zone.

“We appreciate our traditional rulers – the Elemure of Emure, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo; the Arinjale of Ise Ekiti, Oba Adetunji Ajayi; and the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu-Alagbado for their supports to the JSC which have been the reason for the successes achieved in taming crime in the area.”

Falana reiterated the committee’s zero tolerance for crime and criminalities, urging parents and well-meaning individuals to expose internet fraudsters, cultists, cannabis farmers, buyers and smokers in their neighbourhood for arrest and prosecution to achieve a saner society.

He said, “The JSC wishes the traditional rulers and the entire people of the three local government areas and indeed Ekiti State merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.”
