In order to ensure a peaceful atmosphere that will give the electorate freedom to exercise their franchise in the Isoko North Constituency Bye-election slated for Saturday 10th April 2021, the Delta State Police Command has deployed 216 personnel including special constabulary to the Area as mischief-makers have been warned to stay clear.
In a press release on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Edafe Bright said Delta State Commissioner of Police Ari Muhammed Ali had directed that all the polling units and some speculated hotspots in the Local Government Area would be carefully monitored.
The release further said the Commissioner of Police had appealed to front runners in Isoko North to caution their supporters and foot soldiers to restrain themselves from causing chaos as such will not be tolerated.
“No police aid or security agents will be allowed to escort their principals or any important personality (VIP) to polling units or any movement while the Bye-election lasts,” said the Commissioner.
