The abducted wife of an INEC official killed by suspected gunmen last week in Ishiagu, Ivo local government area of the state has been rescued.
In a message on Sunday night, the Ebonyi State Police Command PRO, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, disclosed, “Operatives of the Command acting on credible information rescued the revealed kidnapped victim Charity Igwe unhurt whose kidnap was unveiled during investigation.
“Nine Suspects were arrested from a thick forest in Lokpanta in Abia State and they are all from Lokpanta in Umunneochu LGA of Abia State.
“Items recovered are MP3, Various Handsets and Gang pictures,” she said.
Recall that the INEC official, father of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Leader and one other man were killed in the attack.
