Police Foil Robbery Plan In Delta

Hoodlums suspected to be on a robbery mission in Asaba, the Delta State capital on Sunday, September 11, 2022, abandoned their tricycle and took to their heels on sighting policemen.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe in a statement said, “the Command in a swift response to a distress call from Hausa Market in Asaba, about some suspicious-looking persons using a tricycle in the area, operatives of Command’s CP-Decoy Squad were detailed to the area where the hoodlums on sighting the Police abandoned a de-faced tricycle and took to their heels.

“Upon a thorough search of the tricycle, a fabricated AK 47 rifle, twelve (12) rounds of 9mm live ammunition and twenty-three (23) live cartridges all concealed in black polythene bag and hidden beneath the rear passenger’s seat were recovered.

However, efforts are being intensified in collaboration with local vigilantes to arrest the fleeing suspects.”
