Sequel to the current offensive against criminal elements operating in the State, the Police have foiled a Kidnap/ robbery attempt at Odion Road Junction, Warri.
The operation was well accomplished by the gallant move of the men of ‘A’ Division, Warri when a Team on routine Aberdeen System of Patrol heard gunshots suspected to have been released by suspected armed robbers/Kidnappers.
In a swift movement, the men traced the location where the gun was heard but as they closed in on the hoodlums they quickly abandoned one tricycle with registration number: Delta EFR 060 WZ; one GSM phone and two expended Cartridges which were eventually recovered from the scene.
However, a married couple, one Mr Alfred Erhere with his wife who were both hit by distant stray bullet pellets were rescued, treated in a hospital and discharged.
Commenting on the incident, Delta State Police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe stated that the extraordinary success being recorded by the State Police Command in tracking, arresting suspected criminal elements was as a result of the State Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed Ali’s mandate to all DPOs to ensure that the operational tempo was maintained until the unwanted elements were wiped out completely.
The public has therefore been called upon to give useful information to the police that may lead to the arrest of the hoodlums
