A baby manufacturing factory has been discovered in Aluu community of Ikwere local government area of Rivers state by Operatives of the State Police Command.
Two suspected operators of the factory were arrested while six pregnant teenagers were rescued.
Akudo Ozoroh and Mary Ade were identified as the alleged owners of the baby factory where the six girls were rescued.
Speaking to journalists during her parade by the police recently, Ozoroh who confessed to operating the baby factory did not reveal identity of the buyers.
She however, admitted that she had been in the business for a long time during which she had succeeded in selling many children.
But she said she sells a male child for N1.5 million, while a female is sold at N1 million to buyers at the centre.
The rescued teenagers claimed that they sought shelter in the facility after their boyfriends got them pregnant and rejected their pregnancies.
Others claimed that they were forced into the business because of hardship as they and do not have the means to take care of babies.
It was learnt that the teenagers were paid N250,000 and N300,000 for male and female babies at the facility.
The Police said with the prime suspect is currently in custody, investigations are in top gear for the possible arrest of other suspects in connection to the crime.
