Operatives of the the Nigeria Police Force have arrested suspected killers of Pa Defwan Dariye, the father of former governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Dariye.
Pa Dariye was found dead after the family paid a ransom of N10 million recently.
Lead suspect, Jethro Nguyen, 53, an indigene of Bokos, said he hired 10 others that include Fulani herders to abduct the old man from his palace. He explained further that the 93-year-old was held hostage for 10 days before they finally killed him.
Nguyen was paraded at the Nigerian Police Force headquarters, Abuja, on Wednesday.
He confessed to have given the order to a gang member to shoot their victim.
According to the suspect, Pa Dariye was kidnapped “because he was a good target to make money as his son was a one-time governor of Plateau State and senator of the Federal Republic.”
