Three suspects cutting armoured cables of an electric pole at Igbolile street, area of Iwopin community, Ogun state have been arrested.
The trio Saliu Ashimiu, Awolu Ibrahim, and Saliu Ibrahim were arrested by an officer attached to the marine section of Ogun police command, SP Ebietomoye Adeleke.
The State Command Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola in a statement said the officer mobilised his men to arrest the suspects after he saw them cutting the armoured cables of an electric pole at Igbolile street, area of Iwopin community.
The statement contained that three button phones, one android phone, two iron cables cutters, clothes and repulsive charm were recovered from the suspects following their arrest.
Speaking on the arrest, the State commissioner of Police maintained that the vandals deliberately and wilfully damage and destroy facilities meant for the common enjoyment of the public.
The suspects he maintained, cannot claim ignorance of the law and will be charged to court accordingly.
The Commissioner also assured that suspects who escaped will surely be tracked and arrested.
