One Pastor Frank Osedhi, 46, including two others, Yunusa Lukuman, 46; Ossai Mishark, 33, have been convicted and sentenced to various terms of imprisonments over sexual offences
They were sentenced by 2 High court Judges in Delta.
The names and data of the three convicts have accordingly been entered into the Delta State Sexual Offenders Register.
The three convicts were arraigned before the two courts by the Office of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, through the Sexual, Domestic Violence and Child Rights Unit of the Ministry of Justice in the state.
Pastor Osedhi who was charged and convicted of the offence of Rape was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment by Hon. Justice Enenmo of the High Court of Justice 2, Kwale.
Also, Mishark was charged and convicted of the offence of rape and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment.
Yunusa Lukuman was convicted of defilement of a minor and sentenced to 25 years imprisonment by Hon. Justice Ngozi Flora Azinge, of High Court 4, Asaba.
Speaking to newsmen on the Judgments, the Director of Sexual Offences, Domestic Violence and Child Rights Unit of the Ministry of Justice in Asaba, Mrs Akamagwuna Patricia Uche, said, “the offences of defilement, rape and other sex related offences are heavily frowned at and will not be tolerated in Delta State.”
“Delta State has a sex Offenders Register and anyone caught will definitely be prosecuted and where convicted, will have his name and photograph published,” she warned.
“Protect our children and family from these predators. Stop protecting sex offenders,” she added.
