Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, said it will deploy 680 personnel, 35 patrol vehicles, 20 hired medium and high capacity tow trucks with standby crane through Private Sector Providers (PSP) for operation “SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE DRIVING… A MUST”.

TRACE said the move will ensure safe driving in all nooks and crannies of the state during the yuletide.

According to a statement from the office of the TRACE Corps Commander/Chief Executive, Cdr. ‘Seni Ogunyemi, the operation which commenced on Monday, 13th December, 2021, will last through Monday, 10th January, 2022.

The statement indicated that the Special Operation will be in synergy with other security and safety agencies and also involve the general public, particularly the motoring public, through the TRACE Traffic Whistle Blower Initiative, TRACE Emergency Traffic Service.

Also, TRACE Community Based Traffic Management Scheme, TRACE MAYORS, approved trained Local Government Traffic Mayors, under the auspices of TRACE Corps will also be involved in the special operation in order to ensure strict compliance to the procedural guidelines of the Special Operation Schedule.

The statement further noted that this year’s festive season is unique in a way due to a new wave of Coronavirus pandemic has further challenged all as road users to stay safe by driving responsibly and to plan their journeys in order to be protected.

The statement also urges TRACE Corps operatives to be civil, humane and exhibit a high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

Also, road users were enjoined to employ and ensure that all Covid- 19 protocols and guidelines are observed and respected because any vehicle that contravened for any traffic infraction(s) during the celebrations will not be released until Monday, 10th January, 2022, when the Special Operation Order will come to an end.
