A man, Henry Jegbe, an ursher with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Freedom Hall Parish but popularly addressed as “Pastor” has reportedly hung himself in Agbor, Ika south local government area of Delta State.
It was on Saturday July 17th 2021, when residents of Iregwa Street, off Ojeifoh Street and Upper Queen Lane woke up in the morning to know about the ugly incident of a man who committed suicide by hanging.
Since the abominable act, the remaining occupants of the compound where Jegbe lived have deserted the area.
SECURITY REPORTERS.com gathered that the middle-aged man who was an Usher at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, was accused of having canal knowledge of his neighbour’s minor daughter, a situation that made him to take his life.
According to source, “It’s sacrilegious for Henry Jegbe to have taken his life by hanging. The deceased was suspected to have ended his life as he can no longer bear the shame of allegedly having canal knowledge of his neighbor’s female child (minor) and which was discussed at the community palace.
“Late Henry Jegbe is somebody who is not free with people to tell who he is. We call him pastor because we felt he is one.
“But the news of him sleeping with the female child of his neighbour is what we do not understand and now he has ended his life out of shame”, the source stated.
It was gathered that the late Henry Jegbe hailed from Esan Community in Edo State.
It was also learnt that late Henry Jegbe was an usher and not a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God as insinuated in some quarters but dedicated to the service of God.
Meanwhile, the remains of late Henry Jegbe have been taken to the mortuary by the policemen from Agbor Police Divisional Headquarters for further investigation.
