In the early hours of Sunday morning, gunmen invaded Gin din Dutse Mkyali village of Kufana district in Kajiru Local Government Area of Kaduna state, burnt 12 people and set 17 houses on fire.
Speaking in an interview on the recent attack, a community leader, Moses Musa disclosed that the invaders stormed the village around 5 am when the community were asleep and started shooting sporadically.
It was gathered that the bandits burnt 12 persons, and injured nine, set 17 houses ablaze at the end of the attack that lasted several hours.
As at the time of filling the report, normalcy had been restored in the community.
The spokesman for the Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, who confirmed the attack, said that the injured victims have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Hassan said the command has deployed special forces to the community and environs with a view to arresting and rescuing the kidnapped victims.
The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, condemned the renewed attack in the Kajuru Local Government Area, describing it as inhuman and barbaric.
In a statement issued by his Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday, the governor said that the attack came at a time the state government was working closely with security agencies and other critical stakeholders on mitigating security challenges in the state.
While he condoled the people of Kajuru and the families of the victims, Governor Sani directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to immediately assist the affected communities in Kajuru and Igabi local government areas following the razing of their houses and other valuables.
He further reiterated the government’s dedication and commitment in tackling insecurity in Kaduna State.
The recent onslaught came barely 48 hours when the hoodlums invaded Kauru and Igabi local government areas where nine persons were killed and 35 were abducted.
