Hoodlums clashed and embarked on wanton destruction of goods and properties at the popular Ile-Epo market, Abule-Egba area of Lagos State.
Feelers from the area indicate that the clash ensued over quest for superiority by rival gangs in the area. The fight which started on Wednesday night was said to have continued till Thursday morning.
Some shops in the popular Ile-Epo market were set on fire and goods destroyed.
The hoodlums were also said to have resisted an intervention by the police and prevented a fire service truck which arrived at the market this morning from dousing the fire as they attacked it with stones.
