The traditional ruler of the Atta ancient kingdom in the Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, Edwin Azike, kidnapped last Thursday by gunmen, has been killed
The Imo state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Command Micheal Abattam confirmed this to newsmen in Owerri, on Friday.
The police said: “Yes, the man was killed and his body found in a car. The investigation has commenced getting the full details.”
Recall that Securityreporters.com reported the abduction and subsequent tension which enveloped the area as villagers lived in fear of not knowing the next line of action.
However, a source close to the office of the Imo State Chairman of the traditional rulers, Eze Emmanuel Okeke, revealed that an emergency meeting has been summoned to discuss the matter.
“Imo monarchs are in pains why should this be happening to us. They kidnap us and they kill us this is very painful. Imo monarchs are meeting now to know the next line of action,” he said.
