The Anambra State Police Commissioner, Monday Bala Kuryas has assured all residents in the State that this year’s Easter period, like the previous ones, would be celebrated peacefully.
A statement by the State Command’s spokesman, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu on Tuesday quoted the Commissioner as assuring that the Command has prepared an elaborate operations order which effectively covers all places of worships, recreation centers, public buildings, flashpoints, black spots and other vulnerable areas in order to ensure adequate protection of life and properties in the State.
“Individuals or groups desiring and planning to truncate this noble intention are warned to desist forthwith as any breach of the public peace will attract full wrath of the law.”
Consequently, the Commissioner while wishing all Christians a happy and peaceful Easter celebration also enjoined them to use the period and pray for sustainable peace in the State and Nation at large.
