The corruption charges filed against a former Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Engineer Andrew Yakubu by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) have been dismissed.
According to Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court Abuja, EFCC failed to establish the corruption charges against Yakubu.
Justice Mohammed said the money seized from the former NNPC GMD should be returned to the defendant.
Shortly after the verdict, an emotional Yakubu could not control his tears.
