The Chairman of Transworld Security Limited and a top rate security professional; Dr Ona Ekhomu is dead.
Close sources to the family said he died on Monday following a brief illness. A source however disclosed that he had been in Covid-19 isolation for days.
Meanwhile, the family is yet to formally announce his demise.
Dr. Ona Ekhomu, who is Nigeria’s first Chartered security practitioner has been in the fore front of developing Nigeria’s private security industry through trainings, seminars, conferences, media write up and so on. About 15 years ago, he established the School of Management and Security (SMS) which has helped to provide high level security education for graduates of other disciplines who are interested in security profession.
Many graduates of SMS are holders of the prestigious Certified Protection Officer’s (CPO) designation – a programme of the Miami Florida based International Foundation for Protection Officers. Ekhomu has been the African representative of the Foundation.
