Thousands of travellers going out of Lagos and those coming in this Saturday would have a lot of stories to tell by the time they arrive their destination much later in the day as unimaginable gridlock caused by accident has rendered everyone helpless.
The accident involving three trailers loaded with food items obviously from the Northern part of the country heading towards Lagos have barricaded the motorway following accident probably caused by brake failure or sleep with one of the trailers hanging on the pavement separating the lanes.
The accident which occurred within Mowe axis in the early hours of today has made it extremely difficult for any vehicle coming towards Lagos to navigate out of the lockjam on the inward Lagos lane. The traffic has remained standstill while those going out of Lagos are having hectic time as some vehicles which tried escape from the inward lane have caused blockade as they are driving one.
As at the time of filling this report, it has taken vehicles going out of Lagos about three hours to drive from OPIC area to Mowe with much uncertainty as to how the journey would progress, given the difficulty in removing the accidented vehicles from the inward lane.
It was not clear if there were casualties in the accident but bags of onions and other items could be seen littering the scene with many travellers already standing helpless.
Motor details later………….
