A Tanker conveying petroleum product has exploded; bursted into flames at Agbarho bridge near Warri in Delta State on Friday morning.
Security Reporters.com gathered that the driver of the tanker lost control at the Agbarho bridge following a hot chase by suspected members of the Delta State petroleum task force for allegedly conveying a diverted product.
The incident has caused heavy traffic gridlock along the Ughelli/Agbarho road.
Motorists and other road users are advised to take alternative routes while security agents, firefighters and other emergency response teams should mobilise to the scene to bring the situation under control.
An witness said that it just happened within a twinkle of an eye. “The truck driver was really on top speed and this made him to lose control” said the witness.
Neither the State Head of the Fire Service nor Delta State Police Spokesperson could be reached as their phones could not connect at the time of filling this report.
It has not been confirmed if any life was lost.
