The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu who lost his aged mother earlier in the week, has admonished police officers and others to take care of their parents within their resources while such parents are still alive.
He gave the advice in Ijebu-Ode on Friday September, 2021 during the burial of his late mother, Alhaja Sikirat Adunni Odumosu who died at the ripe age of 88.
The Commissioner who was in high spirit revealed that the only debt children owed their parents was to take good care of their aged parents, noting that such act of kindness was not only rewarding to the children but also sanctioned by God.
Odumosun expressed profound appreciation to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba; the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Mudashiru Obasa for their condolence messages.
Similarly, the CP expressed on behalf of his family deep appreciation to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu who in his capacity as the Chaiman of Council of Taditional Rulers in Lagos State did not only commiserate with the Odumosu Family but also sent a representative to attend the burial ceremony.
In the same vein, Odumosu who appreciated all other very important individuals, groups and associations for their condolence messages, said he thanked God that his late mother lived a fulfilled life and as such he should be congratulated for burying her and not to be pitied.
