The father of the Speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya and seven others have been abducted.
The kidnappers also kidnapped the speakers’ stepmother, uncle and four others when they attacked Magarya village in the Zurmi Local Government Area of the State.
A member of the Zamfara Assembly, Salihu Zurmi representing Zurmi West said this was the fourth time bandits are attacking the community.
According to him, during the first attack, one person was killed while they torched residential houses and carted away cows and other domestic animals during the second assault.
Shehu Mohammed, spokesperson to the Zamfara State Police Command who confirmed the abduction, explained that the attack happened on Wednesday evening.
He noted that troops have been deployed to rescue the abducted victims.
