A suspected armed robber ran out of luck on Wednesday as he was burnt alive in Ughelli, Delta, after angry youths apprehended him while robbing a boutique and tailoring store with a toy gun.
This came barely two days after a suspected robber was scorched alive in Ughelli. This kind of jungle justice is becoming a pattern in the metropolis following the rising cases of violent crimes in the town, as the police and other security operatives are seemingly overwhelmed.
SECURITY REPORTERS.com gathered that the alleged criminal was immediately served jungle justice from angry youths.
According to an eyewitness, “The criminal has gone into the shop on the eve of the day to rob a tailoring store and a neighbouring boutique within the popular Saint Theresa roundabout area of the town and has succeeded in collecting eight phones from his victims”
“However, luck ran against him when one of the victims he was robbing observed that what the thief was holding is a toy gun and immediately raised an alarm.
“The thief was immediately accosted by an angry mob that set him ablaze at the roundabout area”.
When contacted for confirmation, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO) DSP Bright Edafe, said that the incident has not been confirmed.
